Mickey Mouse Orange County Newborn Session

I have worked with this family 3 times now. Trust me when I say.... They are awesome. First I did a family session for them and then a few months later was contacted for a maternity session and I was over the moon excited for them! Now a newborn session that just melts my heart. I will say this little baby had a lot of fight in him. Between fighting the wraps and sleep for the first half of his newborn session and even putting his fists up to pretend to fight me before he fell back asleep. However he I just too cute and you can't get mad at him! well just have a look for yourself <3

Just a Newborn and His Dog

My favorite thing during sessions is when my clients include their fur babies.

When I first arrived at my clients home for their newborn session I knocked on the door and instantly heard the barks of their fur baby. I could hardly contain my excitement. Babies and pets, my 2 favorite things.

When I walked in I was instantly getting sniffed. Well while setting up for the session their dog decided to start barking at me again. We couldn't figure out why. Until I was able to give him pets. After that all was right in his world. He was my buddy for the rest of the newborn session!

Just look at how cute this boy and his pup are and how beautiful this family is!

PS. Take a look at the surprise composites I did for this family!

Surprise Disneyland Proposal!

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to photograph a surprise proposal. Never in my wildest dreams did I image that the first one I would ever photograph would be for my brother. My brother was never someone I pictured getting married one day or any of that, but I truly believe now that the only reason I thought that was because he wasn't finding the right girl for him.

You see ever since my brother met Sarah he has had this big goofy smile that hasn't left his face. I know I'm not the only one who has noticed it either. The way he looks at her and smiles around her is like nothing I have ever seen come from my brother. He is a better man because of her and I could not be happier for not only him but her too. Sarah is sweet, smart, kind, funny, the list goes on and on. She fits into our family like she was born to be apart of it. Sarah has been like a sister to me since the day she moved in and now I officially get the call her my sister-in-law. (once they are married of course) My brother is so lucky to have found her and she is so lucky to have found him.

When my brother first started talking about proposing to Sarah I was thrilled and couldn't wait to help him plan this surprise proposal. When he bought the ring thats when we really kicked things into gear. We got the Disneyland tickets, and every chance we got while Sarah was away at work we sat down and tossed ideas around. We probably had a solid month of just bouncing ideas back and fourth. I even booked a client for a Disney session that morning so I had an excuse to be there as a 3rd wheel on their date day. Sadly said client couldn't make it since one of her littles woke up sick. (if you are reading this I really hope your little one is feeling better!)

We picked the location of Cars Land near the red rocks because one of their favorite things to do is go camping in the desert. It was the perfect fit for them.

The morning of our Disneyland trip I could tell my brother was nervous, he had sweaty palms, and his heart was pounding off and on all day. I packed up the ring in my purse, grabbed my camera and we were out the door and the rest is history. Just see the photos for yourself.

Bryan and Sarah I am so incredibly happy for both of you. You both deserve this more than you will ever know. Thank you for allowing me to be there and watch this next chapter in your lives unfold and for letting me capture it on camera. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for both of you and I can't wait to watch you grow as a couple.

Oh and Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!

All you need is love

If you told me 3 years ago when I started my business that I would be asked to photograph a funeral I probably would not have believed you. It is just not something I felt I would be strong enough for nor did I feel I had enough talent and creativity at the time to capture such a sacred day.

However, here I am 3 years into this business and I was stopped in my tracks when Daphne messaged me and ask me to photograph the funeral of her husband. You see Daphne is a past client of mine, I photographed her and her little family a little while ago when I did her maternity session when she was pregnant with their youngest child. Her and her husband were a blast to be around. Her husband was funny and witty and Daphne well she has a heart of gold. She is so sweet and kind in every way possible. She always puts others before herself.

When she asked me to photograph this day for her I was no longer terrified, but instead honored. Honored that she knew she could trust me to capture this day for her. My heart breaks for her family. Daphne amazes me every day with her strength and courage, and I know her husband is watching over her and their kids and constantly thinking about how proud he is of them.

What I learned from this day was that while I knew I would cry (and I did)... knowing I was doing this for the family and that it will one day help them heal and remember their loved one brought me great comfort. I also learned that all you need is love, when you are surrounded with love you can get though anything.

   Daphne you are my hero.

Please keep this family in your thoughts as they go through this rough time.

If anyone would like to donate to the family you can do so here. Anything helps.
